1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ScanYourFridge (the "Service"), available at scanyourfridge.com and its subdomains, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

ScanYourFridge is a free web-based application that:

• Uses artificial intelligence to identify food ingredients from photos you upload
• Suggests recipes based on the ingredients you have available
• Provides cooking instructions, ingredient lists, and related information

The Service is provided free of charge and does not require account registration.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any systems or networks connected to the Service
• Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service for any purpose without our express written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
• Upload photos containing inappropriate content, personal information of others, or copyrighted material you don't have rights to use
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract the source code of the Service

4. User-Uploaded Content

When you upload photos to use the ingredient scanning feature:

• You retain ownership of your photos
• You grant us a limited license to process your photos for the purpose of providing the Service (ingredient identification)
• Photos are processed and then deleted; they are not stored permanently
• You represent that you have the right to upload any photos you submit
• You are responsible for any content you upload

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user-uploaded content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of ScanYourFridge and its licensors.

The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.

Recipes displayed on the Service may come from various sources and are provided for informational purposes.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The AI ingredient identification will be 100% accurate
• Recipe information (ingredients, instructions, nutritional data) will be completely accurate
• The results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANYOURFRIDGE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Any errors or inaccuracies in ingredient identification
• Any errors or inaccuracies in recipe information
• Unauthorized access to or use of our servers
• Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the Service
• Any food-related illness or injury

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE LAST TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ScanYourFridge and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by ScanYourFridge. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

Since no account is required, "termination" means blocking access from your device or IP address if you violate these Terms.
